Heather Burns is a digital law specialist from Glasgow, Scotland. She researches, writes, publishes, consults, and speaks extensively on tech policy issues which impact the crafts of web design and development.
Heather built her first web site in 1997 by dialling up to her university's UNIX system to hand-code in the Lynx text browser, and was a professional web designer from 2007 to 2015. She holds a postgraduate certification in Internet Law and Policy from the University of Strathclyde.
This year she's been supporting the WordPress project with privacy improvements, helping digital agencies prepare for GDPR, and advising the UK Parliament on European accessibility law ahead of Brexit.
